Who we are
Although, I enjoy taking normal portraits, my work delves into the themes of sex, intimacy, fun, and fear. I use them to challenge society’s ideas about connection and closeness. Intimacy is central to my art, often contrasted with happiness or fear to heighten the emotional landscape. I’m drawn to examining how people experience intimacy, from their connections with others to their sense of self. Creating an open invitation for those who feel they don’t quite fit into societal molds. My hope is to challenge viewers to rethink the limits of relationship standards and to introduce them to the many ways we can foster connection outside the norms of friendship, romance, or family.
Influences like Robert Mapplethorpe and the Boulet Brothers have played a significant role in shaping my perspective. Their willingness to embrace the unconventional and push against societal norms has encouraged me to create art that is raw, rebellious, and honest. My work is a tribute to those who’ve been forced to live on the fringes and a celebration of those who exist outside the mainstream.
Ultimately, I envision my art finding a place in contemporary galleries and perhaps even in creating a network—a kind of mini-empire—for those who feel rejected by the “proper” art world. I want to build something for the outsiders, where rebellion and personal truth take center stage, opening up space for voices that have long been excluded or ignored.
